When a built-in refrigerator stops cooling.
A first-hour checklist for coastal Orange County homes. Food-temperature rules are from USDA FSIS. Coastal Premier is an independent repair shop, not a manufacturer service center.

- Refrigerator: 40°F or below.
- Freezer: 0°F or below.
- Danger zone: 40–140°F.
- Do not leave perishable food out more than 2 hours, or 1 hour if the air is above 90°F.

First 30 minutes
- Photograph any alarm or error code.
- Confirm power (breaker, interior light).
- Read an appliance thermometer. Do not guess.
- Keep doors closed except to move high-risk food.
- Move meat, seafood, dairy, leftovers, and egg dishes to a working fridge or a cooler with ice, or discard using the USDA time rules above.
What to tell the shop
City or neighborhood, brand, built-in vs column vs wine cabinet, warm fresh food vs freezer vs both, water on the floor, and how long it has been off-temperature. Include gate or dock notes.
