Displays
Photograph the code. Do not decode it from memory.
Luxury appliances use different code tables by series and year. This page is a homeowner reporting guide, not a stolen service manual and not a factory authorization claim.
If a code appears, write the exact characters, take a straight-on photo of the display, and add brand + model if the tag is visible. Call (949) 990-3179.
What we need from the display
| Capture | Why |
|---|---|
Exact letters/numbers (E2, SERVICE, flashing set-point) | Codes collide across brands. The photo is the source. |
| Which compartment is complaining | Fresh food, freezer, ice, wine, oven, cooktop. |
| When it started | After a power blink, after a party load, or overnight. |
| Door / water / noise notes | A code plus a leak is a different job than a code plus a warm box. |
Common homeowner-visible patterns
These are symptom patterns, not official factory definitions for every model.
| What you see | What to do first | Do not do |
|---|---|---|
| Flashing temperature or alarm tone on a built-in fridge | Thermometer check, doors closed, photo of the panel | Unplug a sealed system “to reset it” for hours while food sits in the danger zone |
| Ice-maker fault or no ice + water on floor | Water valve off if safe, photo of the floor and display | Yank a panel-ready column out of the cabinet |
| Range control blinking or lock icon | Note whether burners, oven, or both are dead | Hold the igniter on a gas burner in a long click-loop |
| Dishwasher paused mid-cycle with an E-code | Cancel if leaking; photo the code before powering down | Run more cycles to “clear it” |
| Wine cabinet warmer than set point | Record set point vs actual; keep the door shut | Assume bottled wine follows USDA perishable-food discard rules |
Where the model tag usually hides
- Built-in refrigeration: ceiling of the fresh-food compartment, door jamb, or behind the grille
- Ranges: in the oven door frame or under a removable cooktop edge
- Dishwashers: along the tub side at the door
If you cannot see it, skip the search rather than force a panel.
